A Local Legacy of Freshness and Community

QUICKSBURG Just seconds off Exit 269 on I-81, nestled in the heart of Quicksburg, Virginia, the Corner Market Farm to Table is more than a grocery store—it’s a celebration of Shenandoah Valley agriculture, sustainability, and community spirit. Since opening its doors in April 2024, the market has quickly become a beloved destination for locals and travelers alike.

Founded by husband-and-wife team Ben and Mindi, both lifelong residents of the Valley and proud Virginia Tech alumni, the Corner Market was born from a shared passion for local farming and a desire to connect producers directly with consumers.

“We wanted to spotlight local agriculture right here in the Shenandoah Valley,” says Ben. “Depending on the time of year, we work with around 50 small businesses and farms across Virginia.”

Ben grew up helping his father maintain the family’s beef farm, while Mindi spent her youth working at a local dairy farm. Their agricultural roots run deep, and their commitment to the community is evident in every corner of the store. Outside of the business, Ben continues to work on the family farm, and Mindi serves as an EMT in Augusta County while volunteering with Mt. Jackson Rescue and Fire.

One of the Corner Market’s most unique features is its close partnership with Burch Farms, a multi-generational family farm located right next door. Established in the 1750s, Burch Farms specializes in Angus and Hereford cattle, raised on grass pastures and fed a distinctive blend of grain and potato peelings, all sourced from Route 11 Potato Chips, another local favorite. “The cows love them!” Ben adds with a smile. This innovative feeding practice not only reduces food waste but also enhances the flavor and quality of the beef, which is available fresh at the market.

Beyond beef, the Corner Market offers a thoughtfully curated selection of goods that showcase the best of Virginia’s small producers. Shoppers can find fresh seasonal produce, dairy products, jams and jellies, peanuts, handmade pasta, pottery, and more. Each item tells a story—of a local farmer, a dedicated artisan, or a family tradition passed down through generations.

The store’s mission-driven approach is what truly sets it apart. Ben and Mindi are committed to fostering a culture of sustainability, transparency, and support. “We’re not just selling food—we’re building relationships,” says Mindi. “Every product on our shelves represents someone’s hard work and passion.”

The Corner Market’s warm, welcoming atmosphere makes it a favorite among locals and visitors alike. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick grocery run or browsing for unique gifts and ingredients, the experience is refreshingly personal. Customers are often greeted by name, and the shelves are stocked with items that reflect the changing seasons and the rhythms of local farming.

As interest in locally sourced, sustainable products continues to grow, the Corner Market Farm to Table stands as a shining example of what’s possible when passion meets purpose. It’s a place where food is fresher, relationships are stronger, and every purchase supports the local economy.

So next time you’re in Quicksburg, make a point to visit the Corner Market. Support local. Eat fresh. And be part of a movement that’s nourishing both body and community—one farm-to-table meal at a time.
