As the November 2025 election approaches, Shenandoah County residents face a pivotal moment—one that will shape the future of our schools, local governance, and community values.

While national headlines often dominate the conversation, it’s the local races; Board of Supervisors, School Board, and other county offices that directly impact our daily lives. And in these races, every vote truly counts.

Historically, rural communities like ours have leaned conservative, valuing tradition, personal responsibility, and limited

government. In contrast, urban and suburban areas, often more densely populated and politically liberal, tend to push for policies that don’t always reflect the priorities of rural Virginians. This divide has grown in recent years, and the only way to ensure our values are represented is by showing up at the polls.

In Shenandoah County, voter turnout has been strong in past elections, but we must do even better this year. With suburban areas in Northern Virginia and beyond expected to vote overwhelmingly liberal, it’s critical that rural voters counterbalance that influence by participating in full force. The decisions made by our local leaders from school curriculum to land use and law enforcemen are too important to leave to chance.

This election isn’t just about party lines; it’s about preserving the voice of rural Virginia.

It’s about making sure our children’s education reflects our values, our communities remain safe, and our local economy thrives. Whether you’re a farmer, teacher, small business owner, or retiree, your vote is your voice and it deserves to be heard.

Let’s make sure Shenandoah County stands strong. Mark your calendar, know your candidates, and vote either in early voting which begins on September 19th. or on Election Day: November 4th. The future of our county depends on it.
